Research: For the past decade the Masopust lab has leveraged a combination of heterologous prime boost boost vaccination and serial adoptive transfers to boost and track a population of CD8+ T cells through 51 boosts over the course of ten years. Through this iterative boosting, they have undergone significant phenotypic changes yet remain highly functional. My research focus is on understanding if these cells have adapted to handle conditions that might exhaust or senesce a more “typical” memory T cell and what biological changes may have enhanced their functionality.
