Research: Natural Killer (NK) cell is a type of potent tumor-killing immune cell. Due to the minimal risk of cytokine-releasing syndrome and the allogeneic adoptive transfer potential, NK cell is promising for off-the-shelf cell therapy product development. My project focuses on genetic engineering of NK cells. Conventional genetic manipulation methods are either ineffective or toxic to NK cells. I aim to develop a non-viral knock-in platform for NK cell engineering and a robust method for efficient VSV-G lentivirus transduction in NK cells. My overarching goal is to engineer a better NK cell-based therapeutic strategy to fight different cancers.
